The Full Moon in Scorpio is happening on the 30th of April 2018, at 2:59 AM (CEST +2:00), or the 29th of April 2018 at 7:59 PM (EST -5:00). The degree is 9° Scorpio 39’.
One of the most stunning and penetrating lunations is that one which happens when the Sun is in Taurus and the Moon is in Scorpio. A Lunation that holds the light upon the mystery, the light upon what is hidden, and the light upon the vibrating power that lies within us. This is the Full Moon in Scorpio. Silent, mysterious, penetrating and seductive. The meaning that it embodies is that one of regeneration through the transcendence of pain, crisis or fears.
In the Hellenistic Astrology tradition, when the Moon is in the sign of Scorpio, she is said to be in a detrimental position. The Moon likes to be in comfort, in protection and within her sacred boundaries. But Scorpio challenges her. Like the mountain challenges the climber when they meet each other for the first time. Like the adrenaline rush one experiences when getting into the zone of another person. Like the fear one feels when breaking the protective walls and letting oneself trust another person.
Scorpio dresses the Moon in seductive mystery. Too frightening perhaps, but too tempting to resist. One just needs to let go and discover the magic which happens. And this is an ancient symbolism embedded in Pagan Nature. This Full Moon happens just before the feast of Beltane: the feast of sensuality, sexuality, fertility and consummation of love.
Now, the Moon is in Scorpio, in co-presence with Jupiter retrograde in Scorpio, in opposition to the Sun in Taurus. In addition, the Moon is sextile to Saturn in Capricorn, in square to the Nodal Axis and in trine with Neptune in Pisces.
So this is a time charged with discovery opportunities in the personal and transpersonal level. Getting to know ourselves better by letting go to the mysteries calling us. Getting to discover new aspects of ourselves, by engaging deeper with other persons. Challenging ourselves with new experiences. But we must be aware that getting out of the comfort zone is not easy. But it is good to remain aware that there is always a transformative power in every action we decide to step in. And this power is greater as we get out of the comfort zone and experience the world in new positive ways.
